(05.12.) Strings in Gravitational Waves

I'll review arXiv:1910.02745, the first paper on the number theory arXiv with "gravitational waves" in the abstract. I will discuss the relation between partition functions and Green's functions in orbifolds of flat space, and the generalization of this relation to orbifolds of the Penrose limit of Anti-de Sitter space (gravitational dual of the gauge theory BMN limit)
