This talk describes how the Langlands program can be used to view automorphic black holes as probes of the geometry of spacetime. This point of view is made concrete for black holes in the class of Chaudhuri-Hockney-Lykken models, for which the entropy is encoded in Siegel modular forms. It is shown that the CHL Siegel forms can be obtained from simple motivic building blocks associated to elliptic curves.
