I will explore the T-duality relation between the conifold and a pair
of intersecting NS5-branes. I will then describe how to construct the
supergravity solution describing a pair of intersecting NS5-branes.
The brane solution is localised in all directions except a single transverse
circle and explicit examples of this type are exceedingly rare. Yet
they have many applications in gauge-gravity duality and model
building, and are examples of conformally balanced metrics of the
heterotic string. I will also describe additional intersecting brane
solutions corresponding to, for example, separating the NS5-branes.
