I will give a basic introduction to a recently developed mathematical
field called Generalized Complex Geometry. In particular I will show
how it can be used to describe the target space geometry of two
dimensional sigma models with N=(2,2) supersymmetry leading to a
definition of Generalized Calabi-Yau manifolds.
